Authorities Arrest Suspect in Brutal Deer Murder

KOH KONG: Authorities arrested a man who was caught on video brutally beating a deer to death which sparked a social media outcry.

On October 30, a video showing a man beating a swimming deer to death at Kok Hav Beach went viral on social media, causing outrage from the public who are demanding justice and swift legal action.

Koh Kong Governor Mithona Phuthong responded by offering a 4 million Riels (almost $1,000) reward for information on the suspect’s identity.

According to the governor, a 23-year-old man from Pursat has been detained. She praised the police and all stakeholders who worked hard to identify and arrest the suspects to build a case according to the procedure.
